Building modernization

Modernization of buildings in the world is a constant trend in the EU, as most of the premises used by businesses were built decades ago, before the existence of modern IoT devices and sensors, but when they were built, other important requirements for businesses were taken into account (convenient location, easy and inexpensive access to resources, external infrastructure, ESG, etc.) and the construction of a new building will no longer be able to meet these requirements or such a project will turn out to be too expensive and may take up the time of your best specialists.

Did you know that 90% of all built premises of successful businesses in the EU were built 50-10 years ago?

European business has long chosen modernization as the main tool for building automation, and this does not prevent it from being one of the most successful and digital in the world. When creating Sotass, we dreamed of being able to get access to such technologies in Ukraine, and today this is a reality, since Sotass partners in Ukraine are several global IoT developers and manufacturers of wireless sensors, smart meters and computer programs. Modernization allows you to automate and improve buildings without stopping business, transforming premises by sectors and replacing only the equipment that does not meet the requirements of your business.

Our solution

It is very important that the implementation of EnOcean solutions does not require the reconstruction of commercial buildings themselves or the replacement of old infrastructure equipment. After all, SmartServer IoT is already integrated with all EnOcean sensors and sensors and easily integrates with controllers and sensors from other developers, with industrial equipment from leading global manufacturers, such as Honeywell, ABB, Schneider, Danfoss, etc. This allows Sotass to implement reconstruction projects without changing the current infrastructure. For example, in order to replace or move switches to a new location, it is not necessary to pull new copper wires, which in itself would require internal repairs in the building and additional investments. We offer customers the highest quality sensors that are as reliable and efficient as possible, since the wires are manufactured at the best factories in the EU, which independently "produce energy" for their power supply. As our experience shows, the implementation of such projects always improves operational performance, as well as the manageability and stability of the critical infrastructure systems of the premises, and reduces the cost of its operation. Sotass software and server solutions allow you to create BMS-class systems even where they were not provided for by the project, and your business will receive a building monitoring and management system today in the shortest possible time, since all our IoT device solutions are wireless, and the servers can work with both analog and wired signals from industrial equipment and sensors of your modernized building. Having calculated the return on investment with us, you will never return to wrong options and outdated technologies, because the funds spent on a modernization project with us will be returned in a maximum of 2 years, replenishing resources for future building modernization projects together with Sotass and partners.

Cost of Ownership Modernization

At first glance, a modernization project at Sotass seems expensive, but considering that most of the devices we supply are autonomous and can power each other using renewable energy from the environment and already used energy inside the premises and do not require batteries or accumulators, their operation will cost your business much less (from several to dozens of times, depending on what to compare it with). Imagine that you have deployed wireless IoT sensors on batteries and now your employees spend a day a month simply replacing the batteries in them. For the operability of such an IoT infrastructure (the sensor may not transmit data well when discharged, the data from some sensors may be inaccurate (physical damage, wear of contact groups and circuits, freezes and technical errors, lack of a single open management platform, non-updated drivers of IoT controllers and servers), you will have to hire new engineers. Having abandoned wireless sensors, you will have to invest in communication work (laying tunnels and cables from controllers to sensors, from controllers to servers) and invest in repair work (powering sensors, and controllers in technical rooms) and additional construction work (physical placement of IoT controllers and sensors in existing boiler rooms, ventilation chambers, power substations and all technical rooms where the building's industrial equipment is located).

A detailed calculation of the cost of ownership shows that our solutions are not more expensive than Tier 2 solutions available in Ukraine.
